Role Purpose
  • Provide High level administrative and project support for the Ambassador and Advocates Program and responsible for assisting with all of the undertakings involved in the attraction, engagement and support of Ambassadors and Advocates and the information management processes for the portfolio. 
  • Assist with the operational development and implementation of the White Ribbon Ambassador and Advocates Program. This is particularly vital as the Program continues to evolve to provide innovative and inclusive strategy and leadership to ensure community engagement of men and women in the White Ribbon Campaign.
Essential
  • At least 5 years administrative and program support experience including experience working with Executive level team members.
  • Sound knowledge of administrative systems and procedures, and high level of proficiency with office technology.
  • An ability to work effectively within a busy team environment & work unsupervised.
  • High level of initiative and ‘can do’ attitude.
  • High level of proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and in the use of in-house databases.
  • High level attention to detail and ensuring accuracy.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business/program administration or equivalent.
Desirable
  • Experience in community services or the not-for-profit sector.
  • An understanding of WH&S principles in the workplace.

Diversity Project Manager

Role Purpose

This position is responsible for leading the White Ribbon diversity project and progressing social inclusion in line with broader White Ribbon Australia strategic intent.

This project specifically aims to build on the success of White Ribbon to proactively engage Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) men and communities in the prevention of violence against women.

A key outcome will be enhancing existing White Ribbon strategies of prevention via the development of culturally appropriate strategies and resources that raise awareness of and engagement with, the issue of men’s violence against women. Building the capability of culturally diverse communities to support attitudinal and behavioural change is critical to successfully reducing violence across our wider community.

Essential

  • At least 5 years demonstrated achievement in the areas of project management, knowledge
  • management and stakeholder management.
  • A commitment to inclusive practices that enhance access to people from CALD and ATSI
  • backgrounds to services and participation in national campaigns.
  • Experience imparting cultural knowledge and information to internal and external networks.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and forge connections and collaborative partnerships
  • with people from a wide variety of backgrounds that enhance organisational goals.
  • Demonstrated reflective practice and the ability to make recommendations for continuous
  • improvement of practices.
  • Ability to prioritise and work collaboratively and flexibly to fulfil individual performance and
  • lead performance within and across organisational teams.
  • Superior oral and written, interpersonal, facilitation and problem solving skills.
  • Willingness to work and travel outside of hours eg attend stakeholder / consultation forums.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Services, Community Development and/or equivalent work experience in the same or similar field.
Desirable
  • Experience in community services or the not-for-profit sector.

Job Title: Community Events Intern - September - December 2014

Location: North Sydney Head office, NSW

Commitment: 3 months, minimum 6 hours a week available during business hours, day flexible.

This position would best suit someone who would like to gain some hands on experience in a busy office environment, dip their toe into the charity sector and get a behind the scenes feel for event management.

Description:

As the Community Events Intern, you will join an energetic fast paced Team. You will be responsible for contacting supporters to wish them good luck for their events, follow up with them to see how they their events went, and also help supporters to pay in their fundraising. Additional tasks will vary, scope for project management and research, training and support will be provided.

This is an unpaid internship but is an exceptional opportunity to gain development experience at a national non-profit with an ambitious mission which examines the root causes of gender-based violence, challenges behaviours and drives a cultural shift.
