University programs
Universities, as conduits for social change, play a pivotal role in shaping Australia’s future. That’s why White Ribbon is working with the National Union of Students to encourage university communities across Australia to take a united approach in combating men’s violence against women.
Unfortunately, universities themselves are not immune to violence. All women deserve the right to learn safely and freely and everyone in the university community, from vice chancellors to students, has a role to play in ensuring that they can.
What can students do?
Uni students, White Ribbon needs you! As the next generation of Australia’s leaders, your commitment to White Ribbon is essential to ensure cultural change. Consider:
- leading by example in all you do and say
- talking to your peers about the issues
- setting up a White Ribbon Committee on campus
- hosting events, and
- making violence against women the topic of your next thesis.
