White Ribbon Australia is hosting a series of regional forums across Australia showcasing a whole of society, whole of community approach to driving long term change in the prevention of men's violence against women.
The forums bring expertise to various capitals and major regional centres. These regional forums enable a greater range and number of people to access expertise in a cost effective and engaging format. See the program outline here!

The forums will feature international and local experts currently working in the prevention of men's violence against women space. We are delighted to announce the following keynotes who are joining us around the country to share their knowledge and expertise:

Ms Karyn McCluskey
Professor Walter DeKeseredy - Chair of Social Science at West Virginia University, public speaker, educator and writer. Walter has published 19 books and over 130 scientific journal articles and book chapters on violence against women and other social problems.
Dr Michael Flood - Senior Sociology Lecturer at the University of Wollongong, and internationally recognised researcher on men, masculinities, and violence prevention. Michael has made a significant contribution to scholarly and community understanding of men’s and boys’ involvements in preventing and reducing violence against women, and influential contributions to scholarship and programming regarding violence against women and its prevention.
Dr Michael Kaufman - Co-founder of the White Ribbon Campaign, public speaker, educator, writer and consultant. Michael's innovative approaches to engaging men and boys in promoting gender equality and transforming their lives has taken him around the world and we are delighted to welcome him back to Australia.
Ms Karyn McCluskey - Director, Violence Reduction Unit, Police Scotland. Karyn has over 15 year’s experience working in intelligence analysis for police forces across the UK and through the Violence Reduction Unit has seen remarkable reductions in male violence across Scottish jurisdictions.
The focus of these forums is grass roots engagement with external expertise to help drive local change. The forums will:
- Enable delegates to engage in conversation and exchange strategies for action.
- Provide a local learning environment to explore community action.
- Encourage dialogue between community groups, services, academics, government, and interested others on primary prevention strategies.
- Showcase national and international programs working to change men’s attitudes and behaviours that lead to violence against women.
