On Saturday, 16th July the West Harbour Rugby Union and Sydney University Rugby Union first grade teams played the inaugural White Ribbon Cup at Concord Oval, Sydney. The White Ribbon Cup is a joint initiative between the Inner West Domestic Violence Liaison Committee (IWDVLC), West Harbour and Sydney University.
Prior to the game, the West Harbour team attended a presentation which set the context for the White Ribbon Cup and educated players on what constitutes violence against women, their responsibilities as men to oppose this violence and how to support White Ribbon. The match will be played annually at the scheduled First Grade game between West Harbour and Sydney University at Concord Oval.
Thank you to White Ribbon Ambassador, Tim Carroll, for speaking on behalf of the Campaign at t he White Ribbon Cup.
