Luncheon at Melbourne Town Hall

25 November 2011

The second annual Melbourne White Ribbon Day luncheon was a dynamic event, hosted by Andrew O’Keefe and the Lord Mayor.

The sell-out audience was treated a panel discussion on the role of Violence Prevention in the workplace. Panel members included; Elizabeth Broderick, Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Adrian Anderson, Operations Manager from the AFL, and Will Irving, Telstra Executive.

Ministers Wooldridge and McIntosh were also in attendance. Minister Wooldridge made the closing address to an engaged audience that included business leaders, violence prevention workers, White Ribbon Ambassadors, lawyers and police. A clear highlight of this event was the announcement that the City of Melbourne will become a White Ribbon City in 2012 and Minister Wooldridge announced funding for White Ribbon that included provision for updating the website and for the creation of resource for the Victorian community.
