Author Deb Kandelaars joined the Adelaide White Ribbon Breakfast on White Ribbon Day before hosting her own launch that same evening. The launch was attended by White Ribbon Ambassadors Michael O’Connell, Commissioner for Victims Rights, and Ron Kandelaars.
Although ‘Memoirs of a Suburban Girl’ is a work of fiction, Deb talks publicly and persuasively about her own experiences with the aim of raising awareness of White Ribbon. Guests commented that they were purchasing books for a daughter or a friend in a bad relationship and domestic violence support organisations purchased copies as a resource.
