Message on a Ribbon

19 February 2012

A single Hills Rotary Hoist was used to symbolise family Australia, with the subconscious association being "Woman". People were able to write their name or a message about gender violence on a strip of white ribbon. The ribbons were then tied to the Hoist. Over several weekends in February and March, the Hoist was installed at various high foot-traffic areas around Adelaide.

The aim? To have the Hoist completely covered in White Ribbons.

“Message on a Ribbon” was the brainchild of Dirk Zadra, a White Ribbon Ambassador and founder of zee.productions. You can keep up to date with the project through the zee.productions Facebook Page.

Congratulations to Dirk and his wife Karen for their efforts with this project and for gathering the hundreds of messages that covered the hoist, as pictured below.
