Sydney’s White Ribbon Day Walk 25th November 2016
MEDIA ALERT – 21 November, 2016
Sydney White Ribbon Walk 25th November 2016
Sydney’s White Ribbon Walk, now in its 5th year, will be held on 25th November (White Ribbon Day) to help raise awareness among Australian men and boys about the roles they can play to prevent violence against women.
The general public are invited to walk with the NSW Police Force, Eastern Beaches Local Area Command and Randwick City Council from Highcross Park, Randwick to Grant reserve, Coogee Bay road (streets blocked off) followed by speeches at Coogee Bay Surf Club by White Ribbon Ambassadors and a free breakfast.
White Ribbon Australia is dedicated to ensuring men are active advocates for changing the social norms, attitudes and behaviours that are at the root of men’s violence against women. We engage men to stand up, speak out and act to influence the actions of those men that perpetrate violence and disrespect, demand change and drive gender equality.
