Alex Taylor-Pitcher

Community Action Group Officer

Alex is an experienced community organiser who has worked in Community Engagement roles with White Ribbon Australia for over five years.

What drew Alex to the work was the focus on men embracing their responsibility and working side by side with women to prevent men’s violence against women. Since the beginning of his involvement with White Ribbon Australia while studying at University, Alex has built a broad knowledge of primary prevention, community engagement and relationship building with the context of preventing men’s violence against women.

Alex has completed a Bachelor of Psychology from Macquarie University, a field of study that established his interest in the experiences and learnings that influence attitudes around gender inequality and violence against women. He believes that critical self-reflection about the norms and expectations we all have when it comes to gender roles in society is key in addressing the genered drivers of violence against women.
