Cheese for Change - What is it?

WHAT is Cheese for Change?

Cheese for Change is a fundraising campaign, and supports White Ribbon. Host an event and invite your family and friends to raise funds and show your support.

WHEN is Cheese for Change?

The official Cheese for Change dates are Thursday 22 March to Sunday 25 March, however you can host a Cheese for Change event any time in March!

WHERE is Cheese for Change?

You can host an event at home, at work – anywhere that takes your fancy!

Organising your event

How do I register?

Head to our landing page and click ‘Register Now’. This will lead you to Everyday Hero where you will create your own Cheese for Change personal fundraising page. Set up your page and you’re officially registered!

Can you help me organise my Cheese for Change event?

We have heaps of resources to help you organise your event. You can access our Tools and Tips, which includes recipes, fun ideas, posters, merchandise, factsheets and more.

Where can I buy some white ribbons, or other merchandise?

What event is complete without a little White Ribbon merchandise? You can purchase White Ribbon balloons, wristbands, stickers, foam hands, and of course, ribbons from our online store.

I want some posters/invitations/other collateral. What can you provide me with?

You’re in luck! If you’ve registered, you’ll be receiving your host kit via email shortly. In the meantime, you can access plenty of great cheesy resources on our website.

Can I get in touch with local media? How do I do this?

We would absolutely love you to get in touch with local media! We’ve even drafted a media release for you to tailor, and all you need to do is fill in the blanks. Once complete, send it off to your local newspaper! Alternatively, write your own release – but make sure you send it to us for approval first!

How do I collect donations from my guests?

There are heaps of ways you can do this! The easiest way is to share your fundraising page link with your network. Ask family, friends and co-workers to help you raise funds and support White Ribbon by making a donation. At your Cheese for Change event you could charge an entry fee, hold a raffle or have fun competitions for people to take part in.

If you’ve invited anyone from the office, why not ask your organisation to match your fundraising efforts dollar for dollar?

Where can I get some ideas for my event?

You can let your imagination run wild when hosting Cheese for Change, however we know you might like some guidance! Check out some inspiration via the link below – and keep checking as we update the page with some of our favourite ideas from our supporters. Your idea could even be featured!

What about animal treatment in the dairy industry?

Thanks for checking – White Ribbon does not condone the mistreatment of animals. We encourage hosts to consider their purchase choices when selecting products for their Cheese for Change event.

Let's talk money

How do I deposit the funds I raise?

Encourage your supporters to make their donations through your personal fundraising page. Send them the link and then resend it to remind them! For any cash donations you collect at the event, you can submit those through your fundraising page as well.

How do my supporters get receipts?

Any donations made via your fundraising page are automatically issued with a tax-deductible receipt via email. If you collect cash donations at your event, enter those on your donors’ behalf through your page.

How can I donate directly to White Ribbon?

It’s easy! Just follow the link below and fill in the form to donate.

How will funds be used?

All funds raised go towards White Ribbon Australia’s vital primary prevention programs and initiatives. Find out more about our work below.
