Deni in a Day (DiaD)
25 November 2016
I have a love for many things in life and 2 of those things are bike riding and my holiday van in Deni.
I also love the fact that I feel magnificent when I get the chance to ride and/or spend time in Deni with family and friends. After a weekend away or a bike ride my head feels clear and I feel refreshed and I am always keen for others to have this feeling. In 2014 myself and 8 friends embarked on a ride from Melb to Deni (Deni in a Day) and what a ride it was. Amazing camaraderie, one hell of a challenge and truly amazing support from family and friends. In 2015 we tackled the same ride, only this time we did it with over 20 riders. This year another group of riders are embarking on the ride again and we are hoping to raise awareness, and much needed funds, to stop violence against women. White Ribbon do amazing work to help this and given White Ribbon Day is the same day as our ride day, we thought it apt to raise much needed funds for White Ribbon.
I hope my desire to do “Deni in a Day” (which is approx 330kms of riding in one day) will inspire others to ride more or take short weekends away so they can feel strong, refreshed, positive and generally good. But if my ride doesn’t inspire others to ride then perhaps the funds raised will help support those that need it.
