Mount View HS White Ribbon Assembly
24 November 2016
This is the fifth year of Mount View High School’s White Ribbon Assembly.
The aim is to continue raising awareness across our student body and spreading the White Ribbon Message which has resulted in a large majority of our students taking the oath and making a united stand towards not accepting violence against women. Our assemblies have been strongly supported and led by our Mayor Mr Bob Pynscent, a White Ribbon Ambassador and beacon within our community.
In 2016 our school focused on delivering on our White Ribbon – Breaking the Silence goals which have centred on creating awareness and opportunities for discussions within our school community. Our goals have been achieved by staff participating in a professional learning session during one of our staff development days, which continued into our roll call groups with students in the morning. Teachers were given the resources to generate and facilitate guided discussions in roll call using some of the resources from the website, re-enforcing and building on strengthening positive and respectful relationships.
