Prevent men’s violence against women

Community Event

Tasmanian Government’s Annual White Ribbon Walk 2016

25 November 2016

13:00 - 14:00
St David's Park to Parliament Lawn, Salamanca, Hobart, Tasmania, 7000

The White Ribbon Walk is an event run by the Tasmanian Government, inviting Members of Parliament, state servants, community organisations and individuals to walk in support of the elimination of violence against women and children.

This year’s event is co-sponsored by the Departments of Premier and Cabinet; Police, Fire and Emergency Management; Treasury and Finance; Education and Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment.

This year, a strong focus is being placed on research showing that while Australians agree that violence against women is wrong, there is a barrier to recognising that these behaviours start with our youth and their attitudes. Parents, teachers and community leaders have the strongest influence on young people and, as such, we want to stand together to highlight the White Ribbon Message and stop the cycle at its beginning.

We look forward to seeing you there in support of this worthy cause.
