The Tasmanian Government’s White Ribbon Walk
23 November 2018
The White Ribbon Walk invites state servants, Members of Parliament, community organisations, business, school students and individuals to come together and walk in support of the elimination of family violence. This is a free community event.
Starting in St David’s Park, participants will walk to Parliament Lawns as a public demonstration of the Tasmanian State Service’s stand against family violence. Guest speakers will address the crowd once all walkers arrive on the Lawns.
Participants are encouraged to bring along an item to donate to Share the Dignity’s #itsinthebag campaign. This organisation collects personal hygiene products and everyday luxuries for homeless women, women at risk or women experiencing domestic violence. There will be staff on hand to collect your items throughout the event and collection points set-up in some state government offices for 2 weeks following the walk.
