White Ribbon C-130J Community Engagement – Orange
17 February 2017 - 18 February 2017
285SQN (RAAF C-130J Pilot Training) is conducting a Regional Trainer between the 17-18th of February. This training plans to involve a visit to Orange Regional Airport with a C-130J on Friday 17 Feb between 2pm-6pm where community engagement activities will be conducted before returning to Richmond for Friday evening. On Saturday the 18th the aircraft is planned to conduct two flypasts of the Orange Classic Car Show, before returning to Orange Airport and remaining for the evening.
285SQN has elected to ensure that both the regional engagement on Friday and flypast on the Saturday will be registered White Ribbon events. The interaction on Friday is planned to be with local school and cadet groups, and therefore provides opportunity to emphasise the importance of the White Ribbon message to the next generation.
Aircrew present will conduct briefings on the prevention of Violence Against Women in Australia and the history of Air Mobility Group involvement with White Ribbon. The crew will also provide an aircraft tour to the youth groups.
