White Ribbon Day Assembly
16 November 2017
Black and white themed assembly attended by the students of the school, our school community and the leadership team from our partner high school.
Male staff members, student leaders from the HS (and their accompanying teachers/Deputy Principals) and community members are invited to stand together to publicly take the White Ribbon oath.
We have a group of stage 3 boys working with Bankstown Youth Development Service who have written and videoed the clip for their own song “I Feel Scared for my Sister’. This group works hard to share the messages of White Ribbon and respectful relationships throughout our whole school community, attending women’s forums throughout Bankstown and in Sydney. The group will perform their song live.
The student leadership team from our partner high school share their messages of respectful relationships and what White Ribbon means to them and our community. They then assist our school student leadership team to contribute to an artwork that symbolises our collective commitment to creating a safe world free from violence of any nature, with specific attention given to violence against women and girls.
