Prevent men’s violence against women

Committee Event

Women: Be fit, Be healthy, Be Safe!

16 June 2018

10:00 am - 11:30 am
Coomera Rivers State School - Multipurpose Hall, Finnegan Way, Coomera, Queensland, 4209

You may feel cautious about walking or exercising outside on your own and the stats show you’re not alone. Up to 30 per cent of Australian women have expressed fear of being out in the dark on their own and avoid exercising outside, whilst other have concerns about how they look in public.

Come and join our specialist class facilitated by Mel Hiatt, personal trainer and former Victorian Police Officer and David Elton, black belt and regional Taekwondo Instructor, where you will learn self defence and personal safety techniques to help keep you feeling confident when you’re out exercising on your own.

Please note Step into Life Coomera do not suggest initiatives that position women as bearing responsibility for preventing men’s violence against them, but rather teaches tactics which can be used if ever in a confronting situation.

Event Price: $Gold coin donation
