What is White Ribbon Night?
White Ribbon Night is our major fundraising campaign, and supports our national domestic violence primary prevention campaign. Have a night in to #GetTheWordOut, and invite your family and friends to be a part of ending men’s violence against women.
When is White Ribbon Night?
The official White Ribbon Night 2019 is 26 July, however you can host a White Ribbon Night any evening between 1 July and 31 July.
Where is White Ribbon Night?
White Ribbon Night is Australia-wide, you can host an event at home, at your favourite local restaurant, at a sporting event or at the movie theatre – anywhere that takes your fancy! Get active on social media too- you can #GetTheWordOut from anywhere!
How can I get involved without fundraising?
Wear white on White Ribbon Night this year to #GetTheWordOut about violence against women- remember to share it to social and tag us!

Can you help me organise my White Ribbon Night?
We have heaps of resources to help you organise your event. Register your event with us to access social media tiles, a media release, posters, merchandise, factsheets and more.
Can I get in touch with local media about my event? How do I do this?
We would absolutely love you to get in touch with local media! We’ve even drafted a media release for you to tailor, and all you need to do is fill in the blanks. Once complete, send it off to your local newspaper! Alternatively, write your own release – but make sure you send it to us for approval first!
How do I get my workplace involved?
If your event is held at your workplace, or you’ve invited anyone from the office, why not ask your organisation to match your fundraising efforts dollar for dollar?
How do I collect donations from my guests?
The easiest way is to share your fundraising page link with your network. Ask family, friends and colleagues to help you end men’s violence against women by making a donation. On your White Ribbon Night you could charge an entry fee, sell baked goods, hold a raffle or have fun competitions for people to take part in. Ask your friends to bring a dish and donate the money that would’ve been spent on a night out. Have your mates donate every time the other team scores.
Where can I get some ideas for my event?

How do I pay/deposit the funds I raise?
Encourage your supporters to make their donations through your personal fundraising page. Send them the link and then resend it to remind them! For any cash donations you collect at the event, you can submit those through your fundraising page as well.
How do my supporters get receipts?
Any donations made via your fundraising page are automatically issued with a tax-deductible receipt via email. If you collect cash donations at your event, enter those on your donors’ behalf through your page.
How can I donate directly to White Ribbon?
It’s easy! Just follow the link below and fill in the White Ribbon Night form to donate.
How will funds be used?
All funds raised go towards White Ribbon Australia’s vital primary prevention programs and initiatives. Find out more about our work below.
What if I don’t want to host a White Ribbon Night?
That’s okay! Hosting an event isn’t for everyone and you can still show your commitment to ending men’s violence against women by wearing white on White Ribbon Night, getting active on social media, and making a small donation to help support the cause. Don’t forget to tag us!
What other White Ribbon events are there?
White Ribbon Night this year is Friday 26th July but there are lots of activities taking place across the year. Check out the current events in your area and sign up as a supporter to get our regular updates.
