White Ribbon Night Frequently Asked Questions
What is White Ribbon Night?
White Ribbon Night is our major fundraising campaign, and supports our national domestic violence primary prevention campaign. Host an event and invite your family and friends to be a part of ending men’s violence against women.
When is White Ribbon Night?
White Ribbon Night this year is the last weekend in July, from July 27-29. However, you can host a White Ribbon Night any time in July!
Where is White Ribbon Night?
White Ribbon Night is Australia-wide, you can host an event at home, at work, at your favourite local restaurant, at a sporting event or at the movie theatre – anywhere that takes your fancy!
How do I register?
Head to our landing page and click ‘Register Now’. This will lead you to Everyday Hero where you will create your own White Ribbon Night personal fundraising page. Set up your page and you’re officially registered!
Can you help me organise my White Ribbon Night?
We have heaps of resources to help you organise your event. You can access our Tools and Tips, which includes event invitations, bunting, a media release, posters, merchandise, factsheets and more.
Can I get in touch with local media about my event? How do I do this?
We would absolutely love you to get in touch with local media! We’ve even drafted a media release for you to tailor, and all you need to do is fill in the blanks. Once complete, send it off to your local newspaper! Alternatively, write your own release – but make sure you send it to us for approval first!
How do I get my workplace involved?
If your event is held at your workplace, or you’ve invited anyone from the office, why not ask your organisation to match your fundraising efforts dollar for dollar?
How do I collect donations from my guests?
There are heaps of ways you can do this! The easiest way is to share your fundraising page link with your network. Ask family, friends and colleagues to help you end men’s violence against women by making a donation. On your White Ribbon Night you could charge an entry fee, sell baked goods, hold a raffle or have fun competitions for people to take part in. Ask your friends to bring a dish and donate the money that would’ve been spent on a night out. Have your mates donate every time the other team scores.
Still a bit stuck? Check out our Tips and Tools section for more information.
