White Ribbon Ambassadors
The White Ribbon Ambassadors are trained men who recognise the importance of men taking responsibility and being part of the solution to end the violence, abuse and inequality faced by women across Australia. They are essential supporters who dedicate their time and energy into promoting the work of White Ribbon.
White Ribbon Advocates
White Ribbon Advocates are female representatives of White Ribbon who promote gender equality, respectful relationships and the engagement of men in order to see a nation in which every woman lives in safety, free from men’s violence and abuse.
White Ribbon Supporters
White Ribbon Supporters are men and women who are passionate about ending men’s violence against women and engage with White Ribbon in an independent and proactive capacity. They bring local expression to the White Ribbon Campaign through the activation of people, networks and opportunities to make violence against women a man’s issue too.
Training and eLearning
White Ribbon delivers a range of eLearning and training to increase understanding of violence against women and how to stand up and stop violence against women before it happens by addressing the root causes of violence.
White Ribbon training is based on research and best practice, and is tailored to specific settings and communities to ensure its effectiveness and sustainability and to grow the social movement across Australia.
White Ribbon Australia encourages all Australian men and women to undertake our free eLearning course. By so doing you will:
- further your understanding of the causes, types, prevalence and impact of violence against women
- learn how to support someone experiencing violence
- learn some practical skills to help you speak up and safely take action to stop violence against women.
Research and social impact
White Ribbon Australia develops research and innovative resources to help prevent men’s violence against women. We provide free resources for people interested in research on domestic violence, violence against women and abuse, including our factsheet series, our eLearning course, and the White Ribbon Policy and Research Series.
White Ribbon partners are vital to helping develop and extend our prevention work, including programs and community initiatives to engage men, advocacy and training. Every organisation we work with acknowledges that men’s violence against women is a serious and prevalent issue, shares our vision and sees an active role for their organisation to work with their own staff, networks and customers.
Working with diverse communities
The White Ribbon diversity program engages with multicultural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities within Australia. It organises forums and workshops for men, supports them to be role models and to confront domestic violence. It also provides relevant resources, such as translated factsheets and videos, all the while ensuring that diversity and inclusion are at the forefront when drafting key policies, frameworks and models.
